In 2027 FUTURES: A Festival of Discovery will once again bring research to life across Bath and Bristol and online, as part of European Researchers’ Night, funded by the European Commission.
From 2018-2025 FUTURES brought research to life with free in-person and online events across the South West of England. FUTURES 2026 is wrapping up, having welcomed at least 3,200 people to our 7 events, where they’ve engaged with 130 researchers. If you came to a FUTURES event this year, thank you for joining us. You can still take part in the FUTURES Digital Forest citizen science activity, and join our mailing list to make sure you hear about our events coming up in 2027!
The FUTURES team is now hard at work developing an exciting programme of events and activities for 2027, and working on our Researchers In Schools programme. Our upcoming events will be added to the Events page in 2027.
Tune in to FUTURES on Air – community radio programmes made with researchers and broadcasters from across the South West as part of FUTURES 25.
Listen to the Sound Waves podcast – exploring how our oceans are changing through sound, recorded live as part of FUTURES 25.
Try something new – with our Do Try This At Home activities.
Stay curious, and keep discovering how research can make our world better.
